Kennards Self Storage Caringbah

Project Overview

Brushwood delivered the complete engineering pack for a new Kennards Self Storage development in Caringbah, spanning structural, façade and civil design for the Construction Certificate. Sitting within the flood-prone Taren Point catchment, the design needed to account for stormwater management, geotechnical conditions and flood risk alongside the usual structural demands of wind, seismic and imposed loads, with a piled foundation system suited to the site's ground conditions. Brushwood's role was to design and certify the structural, façade and civil works to the required Australian Standards and Building Code provisions, giving Viacon and council confidence to proceed with construction.

Our Scope

  • Designed and certified the structural system of the facility, including the piled foundation system, against the relevant Australian Standards covering structural actions, piling, concrete and steel.
  • Engineered the façade, confirming it could resist wind and other loads and satisfy the applicable building code provisions.
  • Designed and certified the civil and stormwater works, confirming compliance with AS/NZS 2890.1:2004 and the National Construction Code.
  • Reviewed the design alongside the architectural drawing pack, geotechnical report and site-specific flood report.
  • Issued formal Structural, Façade and Civil Design Certificates confirming the works met all required standards and codes.
