Project

Paramount+ Mountain, Australian Grand Prix 2025

Project Overview

Built for the 2025 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, this project involved certifying a striking mountain-themed structure created for Paramount+. Constructed as a hybrid scaffold and truss ground support system clad to resemble a peak, the structure housed equipment and activation space beneath its sculpted form, all supported on a raised deck. With the scale of the build, Melbourne's changeable weather and huge crowds passing through the precinct over race weekend, the structure needed to be engineered and verified to a high standard. Brushwood's role was to certify that the design and installation met the required safety standards, giving Chopt and event organisers confidence the structure was fit to open to the public

Our Scope

  • Certified the structural engineering design of the mountain structure, including the scaffold and truss ground support system and its capacity to resist wind and imposed loads.
  • Reviewed the structura drawings and design analysis calculations prepared for the build.
  • Verified the as-installed structure against the approved design documentation, confirming no material differences.
  • Issued a formal Structural Engineering Installation Certificate confirming the completed structure complied with the relevant Australian Standards and the National Construction Code.
