Pitch Festival Stages 2026

Project Overview

Brushwood was responsible for making sure a striking temporary stage and viewing structure could withstand the demands of a five-day outdoor event. The build included a two-storey scaffold viewing platform for patrons, complete with staircases for safe access, and a dedicated module supporting the DJ booth and large PA speaker towers. With crowds gathering, sound systems suspended overhead and Victoria's unpredictable weather to contend with, every part of the structure needed careful engineering. Brushwood modelled the entire structure digitally, checked it against strict wind and crowd-loading requirements, and confirmed it could handle everything from packed viewing areas to gusty conditions.

Our Scope

  • Modelled and analysed the stage, viewing platform and staircases using specialist engineering software, confirming they would perform safely under real festival conditions.
  • Checked the structure against strong winds, calculating a safe wind speed limit for the event and confirming the design would hold up within it.
  • Verified the platforms could safely support large crowds, including capacity for 200 patrons on the upper viewing deck and all attached lighting, sound and production equipment.
  • Inspected all connections, handrails and safety barriers, confirming the structure was stable and secure without additional weights or anchoring.
  • Signed off the completed design and construction, giving organisers and authorities confidence the structure was safe to open to the public.
