Façade Engineer
This project involved the façade engineering for a residential building in Cronulla, where Brushwood designed and certified a range of toughened laminated glass elements including balustrades, pool and spa glazing and privacy screens. Channel and point-fixed with no top rails, the frameless glass delivers a clean, uninterrupted outlook and is the only frameless glass design along the water for this building. Because frameless glass relies entirely on its fixings and glass make-up for safety, each element, from non-structural privacy panels to curved and straight balustrades, was verified against wind loads, structural glazing requirements and the relevant Australian Standards. Brushwood worked closely with D.velop.R and the glazing contractor to resolve details through to completed installation.
