Façade Engineer
As part of the Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital redevelopment in Nowra, Brushwood delivered engineering for the building's façade, working with the head contractor to bring the design through to completed installation. The scope took in glazed and aluminium façade elements alongside the glass balustrades across Levels 1, 2 and 3, which combine steel fin plate posts, circular hollow section (CHS) handrails and toughened laminated glass, with standoff-supported glass at Level 3. In a busy hospital, the façade and its fall-prevention elements need to handle wind loads, imposed loads and everyday use over the building's 50-year design life. Brushwood reviewed the design documentation, inspected the completed works and confirmed they were sound and compliant, giving the builder and hospital confidence the façade was safe for use.
Framing the Cronulla waterfront with the only frameless glass design along the water, where nothing gets between the residents and the view.
Bringing Oxford Street's heritage buildings back to life with façade engineering that respects the past and performs for decades.
Engineered aesthetic cladding and signage solutions for Darling Square's vibrant precinct.
